Date of death of the
Companion Sa‘d ibn
Mu‘aath
Fatwa Date : Thul-
Qi'dah 27, 1435 /

Question
Salam, I want to ask a
question that in which Islamic
month and year did the
Prophet's ( ) companion Sa'ad
ibn Maaz (RA) died?
Jazakallah.
Answer
All perfect praise be to
Allaah, The Lord of the
Worlds. I testify that there is
none worthy of worship
except Allaah, and that
Muhammad , is His Slave and
Messenger.
The honorable Companion
Sa‘d ibn Mu‘aath died as a
martyr in the month of Thul-
Hijjah, 5 AH, about twenty-
five nights after the Battle of
Al-Ahzaab (or the Parties).
He died at the age of thirty-
seven. He was fatally injured
in the Battle of Al-Ahzaab as
he was hit by an arrow which
severed one of his veins. He
supplicated, “O Allaah, if
there is still a war to be
fought with Quraysh, then
keep me alive for it. You
know that nothing is more
beloved to me than to fight
for Your cause against those
who disbelieved in Your
Messenger, harmed him, and
turned him out of Makkah. O
Allaah, if You have put an
end to the war between us
and them (Quraysh), then
bless me with martyrdom. O
Allaah, keep me alive until I
happily see Your punishment
for Banu Quraythah." His
supplication was answered
and he remained alive until
he was chosen as the arbiter
for the Banu Quraythah and
passed his judgment that
coincided with the just
judgment of Allaah for them.

‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Umar,
may Allaah be
pleased with him
Fatwa Date : Shawwaal

Question
Salams. Can you please give
me the biography of Abdullah
bin umar? Who was he and
what authority in Islam?
jazak Allah khair.
Answer
All perfect praise be to
Allaah, The Lord of the
Worlds. I testify that there is
none worthy of worship
except Allaah, and that

Messenger.
‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Umar ibn Al-
Khattaab ibn ‘Abdul ‘Uzza
Abu Abdur-Rahmaan Al-
Qurashi Al-‘Adawi Al-Makki,
the Meccan and later the
Madenite, was among the
learned Companions. He
converted to Islam at a very
young age and then migrated
with his father before
reaching the age of puberty.
He was deemed too young to
fight during the Battle of
Uhud, so his first battle was
Al-Khandaq (the Trench). He
was among those who
pledged allegiance to the
Prophet , under the tree. His
mother was Zaynab bint
Math‘oon.
He related much knowledge
from the Prophet , and from
his father 'Umar, Abu Bakr
and ‘Uthmaan, as well as
from many senior
Companions .
Reputable Successors
(Taabi‘oon), such as Sa‘eed
ibn Al-Musayyib, Thaabit Al-
Bunaani, Taawoos, Az-Zuhri,
Muhammad ibn Seereen,
Naafi‘ (his servant),
Mujaahid, and others, were
among those who related
from him.
‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Umar ibn Al-
Khattaab was known for his
asceticism, virtuousness,
generosity, spending in
Allaah's cause, knowledge
and piety, and for his strong
desire to exemplify the
Prophet , and follow his
tracks in even the most
subtle matters. He was also
known for abundant worship,
such as praying at night and
fasting during the day, and
performing Hajj every year.
This is a brief overview
about his life, his status in
Islam and his virtues.
Allaah Knows best.

MERITS OF HADRAT ABU BAKR SIDDIQ (R.A)

MERITS OF HADRAT ABU BAKR
SIDDIQ (R.A) Quran states: If you will not aid him, Allah certainly aided him when those who
disbelieved expelled him, he being the
second of the two, when they were both
in the cave, when he said to his
companion: Grieve not, surely Allah is
with us. So Allah sent down His tranquility upon him and strengthened
him with hosts which you did not see, and
made lowest the word of those who
disbelieved; and the word of Allah, that is
the highest; and Allah is Mighty, Wise.
(9:40) Hadith States: Anas narrated that Abu Bakr As-Saddiq “Allah be pleased with
them” told him: I saw the feet of the
unbelievers over our heads while we
were in the cave. I said: “O Allah’s
Prophet! If any of them look down, he will
see us beneath the feet.” The Prophet “Allah’s blessing and peace be upon him”
said: “O Abu Bakr! What do you think of
the two persons, of whome Allah is the
Third?” Sah
